Signal Restaurant@ The Station House Hotel

First opened on Easter Saturday 1984 by Thelma and Chris Slattery, the Signal Restaurant has always been a go to destination for fine dining and special occasions, winning many awards over it's 36 years.
Their passion! They put food at the heart of their welcome. They're committed to sourcing as much of the food they serve from within the Boyne Valley, starting with the fruit and vegetables they grow in their own gardens and in their partner farms in and around Kilmessan. They do this, not just because it tastes great and supports their local farmers, but it’s also better for the environment – win win!

The Signal Restaurant

The Boyne Valley is as fertile as it is beautiful, giving the chefs at The Signal Restaurant a rich supply of fresh, high quality ingredients. They also produce vegetables and fruit themselves in the kitchen gardens, within the 12 acres of grounds that surround The Station House and at Thelma’s own garden, nearby. Using their own produce, they make jams, chutneys and preserves in the hotel kitchens, where they also bake fresh breads and scones daily. With all of these delicious ingredients at their disposal, The Signal Restaurant’s menus always make the most of whatever ingredients are in season and at their best.

Little wonder, therefore, the Signal Restaurant has drawn praise from critics, local and international guests, as well as multiple award judges. Diners include everyone from global travellers to local residents, each with a variety of tastes, where their food and wine menus are designed to provide an exceptional dining experience to all those that visit us.

Please note the Signal Restaurant is closed on a Monday and Tuesday, with the exception of bank holiday Mondays, where they serve an all day lunch menu.  Please contact us for group bookings on these days.  They serve their Platform Bar Menu 7 days a week.

Dining & Drinks Experiences
At The Station House, they regularly host special events and seasonal celebrations, all centred around their commitment to local and Irish produce, their unique collection of wines and other drinks, and themes that are close to their hearts.
Whether it’s a special Tasting Dinner with the Il Borro wine estate, an exclusive trek around the Dunsany Reserve with their visionary neighbour Lord Dunsany, or a seasonal Drinks and Canapé evening, there’s always something to look forward to at The Station House.
