Hickeys Farm

Pat & Brigid Hickey initially started growing some strawberries and carrots back in 1957 in Cappocksgreen, Ardee. They bought their first ‘bit of ground’ in Townspark, Ardee in 1961. They then started growing carrots for the Dublin Market and things steadily grew, year on year, from there.

 In 1993 their Sons, Martin & Patrick took over the reins and have been competently growing the business since then. Martin’s Son, Gerard, is now also involved and helps manage things on a daily basis, along with Martin and Patrick. Pat sadly passed away in 2007, but his legacy lives on.

Nowadays, they supply over 10,000 tonne of potatoes to the Irish market annually, along with 8,000 tonne of carrots. They also grow 4,000 tonne of grain and keep around 350 cattle on the farm. They are passionate about maintaining their extremely high standards, which are Bord Bia quality approved. They strive to promote home grown produce and healthy eating. They aim to deliver the best quality produce to all their customers, be they large or small.
