Urbo Milk
URBÓ is a delicious, wholesome milk-based drink, produced using only natural ingredients on our Irish family farm in the heart of the Boyne Valley in Co. Meath. It has all of the functional health benefits of whole milk, is high in protein, rich in vitamins & minerals, low in lactose and uses only milk that is fully traceable to our farm.
Urbo Milk started during COVID while Pierce Fleming was working with Pat Farrelly on Pat's family farm after completing his Agricultural Science degree.
Pat was producing milk that was to the highest standards on a state-of-the-art robotic farm in the Boyne Valley.
Pierce was heavily involved in sport throughout his life and was always conscious of what he was consuming pre and post exercise. He was always an avid consumer of milk and had great belief in its hydrating and recovery properties.
They carried out a vast amount of research and spoke to multiple nutritionists and scientists, whom backed up our thoughts about the magic of milk. From here they carried out significant market research and established what was trending worldwide. Health, Sustainability & Welfare were all priorities and from here the foundation of URBÓ was built.
Ainé & Peter Farrelly then came onboard and with their expertise in Business, Finance and Engineering they really started formulating a plan and ultimately a product.
The team attended several courses to help them put structure on their idea and with the help of LEO, Enterprise Ireland, Bord Bia, Teagasc and Food Works, URBÓ was born.
Urbo is made using fresh whole milk direct from the family farm, blended with only natural whole food ingredients. The milks have 15g of protein per serving, are fortified with Vitamin D, have less than 2% added sugar, contain essential vitamins and electrolytes and taste great!
At URBÓ they recognise that they have an important part to play in limiting the impact on the environment, from the ingredients they source to the packaging they use. Urbo drinks are packaged in aluminium cans which can be recycled over and over again.
Animal welfare is embedded in their ethos, the philosophy of the farm follows the Five Freedoms for animals, which they believe yields produce far superior in quality. Their cows are grass fed and free to roam the farm, presenting themselves for automated milking when they choose.
