
An interactive visitor centre, which promotes a love of the outdoors, organic produce, eco-awareness and sustainable living in Laytown, Co. Meath. Situated on a farm of noteworthy historical interest, they host regular events, including foraging and garden workshops.
Sonairte has been certified as an organic food producer with the Irish Organic Farmers and Growers Association since 1988, and subsequently by Irish Organic Trust, and has been teaching organic horticulture and providing courses in various aspects of environmental education ever since.

The seasonal produce harvested from the gardens is available in their Eco Shop and across the online platform Open Food Network.

Easter Egg Hunt
Search Sonairte's garden and grounds for their Easter Egg Hunt and take home your tasty prize. Suitable for all ages up to 14 years.
Also, help Easter Bunny find his friends.
This Easter you'll not only hunt for eggs but they also need your help in finding Easter Bunny's friends who got lost in the garden!
Outdoor egg hunt & indoor colouring and craft activities.

Spring Foraging Walk
Join them for a walk around the grounds of Sonairte, identifying Springs’s wild, edible plants with Jenny Boylan.
Jenny is a forager, wildcrafter, apprentice herbalist, and author of The Beginner Forager’s Calendar. Having grown up on a farm in Co. Louth, she has a lifelong love of nature but only began to develop knowledge of wild plants while living in Palestine, where traditional practices of gathering and eating seasonal wild plants and working with them for medicine are still strong.

Grow Your Own Pumpkins
Come grow your own organic pumpkin from seed with Sonairte!
You will be invited to do this in 4 stages with them, over the course of the Summer.
1. Sow your pumpkin seed in their propagating tunnel.
2. When your seedling is big enough, you will transfer it to a bigger pot, to continue growing.
3. Plant your young pumpkin plant into the pumpkin patch outdoors.
4. Harvest your pumpkin for halloween!
You will label your pumpkin with your name and they'll send regular updates on how well your plant is doing.
