    Join us for an afternoon of conversation, inspiration and deliberation, around the subject of Irish Food Culture.

    Guest Speakers will include:

    Rinaldo Giacomo Rava, MD of the University of Gastronomic Science, Pollenzo, Italy

    Mairtin Mac Con Iomaire of TU Dublin, Ireland 

    Followed by an Expert Panel to discuss "The Time is Now an Irish Food Culture Story" - Chaired by Dr. John McKenna (McKenna's Guide) who will be joined by Kevin Sheridan (Sheridan Cheesemongers), Darina Allen (Ballymaloe Cookery School & Author), Chef JP Mc Mahon, Rinaldo Giacomo Rava  (University of Gastronomic Science, Pollenzo, Italy),  and local producer Maria Flynn (Ballymakenny Farm)

    Also presented on the day will be the vision for launching Ireland’s first ‘Centre of Food Culture, Boyne Valley’ a project supported by Meath & Louth County Council.

    Rinaldo Rava is Managing Director at the University of Gastronomic Sciences, where he has previously worked as head of the presidency office of Carlo Petrini for over 8 years. He is currently responsible for the development of the Strategic Plan 2023-2027 and Gender & Equality Plan of the University. He has a bachelor's degree in International Cooperation and Development and a postgraduate in Economic Policy and Financial Markets at the University of London SOAS. Over the years he’s been contributing to some of the books by Carlo Petrini, such as “Food and Freedom” (Giunti, 2015), “Un’idea di felicità” with Luis Sepulveda (Guanda – Slow Food 2014) and “Vivere per qualcosa” with Luis Sepulveda and Jose Mujica (Guanda – Slow Food, 2018).
