This year, you can enjoy a bodhrán (traditional Irish drum) workshop in the nineteenth century stone cut barns. Or why not learn how to make brown soda bread in the Cookhouse (limited availability). Lilly Murtagh is renowned for her baking and your bread straight from the oven will be a real treat after you've enjoyed a day in the fresh air.
Matt Murtagh breeds and trains sheepdogs and visitors can see them working in the fields during their visit. The Connemara ponies will welcome a friendly pat or a handful of grass. You will also meet lots of other animals - sheep, cattle, donkeys, pigs, llamas, alpacas, goats, geese, hens, ducks, rabbits etc as you wander along the trails through the farm.
Causey Farm is a gem of old fashioned Irish hospitality where The Murtagh family and their team love to share their heritage, food and farm traditions with visitors through lots of fun activities.
Tickets are €14.00 per person, with babies and 1 year olds attending free of charge. Carers can avail of a €5 discount. There is an additional charge for pedal boats and brown bread making.
The Summer Experience will be running during July and August.
