The Leinster Regional Final of the Irish Restaurant Awards took place in the Knightsbrook Hotel in Trim last night and we are absolutely thrilled that so many of our members were successful on the night. It is a real indication of the high standard of restaurants that we are lucky enough to have in the Boyne Valley that so many were winners on the night.

The Irish Restaurant Awards are organised by the Restaurants Association of Ireland. This is the 12th annual awards, their aim is to recognise excellence in the restaurant industry from Best Customer Service Experience to Best Chef, and Best Café to Best World Cuisine. Featuring a very rigorous process of nominations, judging, mystery guest inspections and more. This level of assessment has made the Irish Restaurant Awards one of the biggest and most credible in the country.

A huge congratulations to all those that took home awards and to those that were nominated. It is a fiercely competitive and extremely tough industry to be in so well done to all.

A special well done to our very own Olivia Duff who was awarded Leinster Regional Food Hero, an award that is so well deserved. Olivia has been one of main people driving the Boyne Valley Flavours organisation over the past few years and has sacrificed endless hours to working as part of the committee and with members to help continue the growth and success of the movement. We are very grateful to have Olivia on our team and we are delighted to see her get the recognition she absolutely deserves.

We also have to say a huge congratulations to another absolute powerhouse- Maria Flynn of Ballymakenny Farm who won the Louth Food Hero award last night. Maria is a huge supporter of Boyne Valley Flavours and we are thrilled all her hard work was recognised last night.
