Last weekend was once again another one filled with foodie adventures in the Boyne Valley Food Series.
It began with Berminghams Bar in Navan, Celebration of Oysters and Stout event on Friday 28th. A packed pub enjoyed the most delicious fresh oysters from Boyne Valley Flavour’s award winning producer Carlingford Oyster Company and Kellys of Galway. On hand along to serve these oysters in several different styles was Berminghams proprietor Patrick Donnelly and seafood advocate and restauranter Nial Sabongi. Paired with the oysters were local stouts from Boyne Valley Flavours producers Boyne Brewhouse and BRÚ Brewery along with Guinness.
Not only did we have delicious food, drink and live music but we also received a visit from the Goddess of the Boyne herself!
A brilliant night was had by all and a huge thank you to Berminghams for their fantastic hospitality and for putting on such a good show.
Sunday 29th say us celebrating National Potato Day a few days early in Meade Potato Company’s headquarters in Lobinstown County Meath. The day began with a 5K race around Meade Potatoes headquarters with a huge turnout of very enthusiastic athletes. Once the race was over there was an amazing array of activities and entertainment for all the family including a cinema, tractor grand prix races, bouncing castles, pony ride and a machinery displays.
There were of course many Boyne Valley Flavours producers there on hand also with Catrioná from Whats For Pudding, Des from Boyne Valley Pastures, Mark from The Cider Mill and Hilda from Hilda’s Homemades. All there with all there delicious Boyne Valley produce.
A fantastic sunny afternoon full of yummy local produce, music and fun was enjoyed by all visitors and we are already looking forward to next years renewal!
A massive well done to all the crew in Meade Potato Company for putting on this fantastic day where all the proceeds were going towards local schools and the Ardee Hospice.
