We're thrilled to introduce ‘Boyne Valley Bites’ - a new food trail as part of the 2018 Boyne Valley Food Series. The trail, that will run over 18 days from Friday 18th May until Monday 4th June, will be centered in Navan town where 10 eateries will offer a tapas-style dish with a local Boyne Valley twist. The ‘Boyne Valley Bites’ dishes will be paired with one of the many local craft beverages, priced at €10 or less.
Dishes from the trail will feature both sweet and savoury options so trail-goers can discover such delights as The Central’s Black Pudding Salad made with Tom Doherty black pudding, McCormack Farm baby leaves and caramelised pear and balsamic vinegar, paired with a Boyne Brewhouse American Pale Ale. Those with a sweet tooth will be delighted with Bakealicious’ carrot cake made with Newgrange Gold oil and paired with an Ariosa coffee.
Food lovers will also get the opportunity to bring home their very own ‘Boyne Valley Bites’ branded apron and wooden spoon. All they have to do is fill out the special passport by collecting stamps from participating restaurants. Once they have collected five stamps visitors will receive the wooden spoon, while with 10 they will get to bring home an apron too.
